Hasserodt, John E. (8 FEB 1930 – 25 May 2016)
John Edward Hasserodt, age 86, of Marshfield, died Wednesday May 25, 2016 at
Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral Services will be held at
11:00 am Tuesday May 31, 2016 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 201 South
LaSalle Street, Spencer. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
John was born February 8, 1930 in Texas, son of the late Asa and Selma
Hasserodt. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. On October
4, 1952 he married Carolyn Wass. They lived in Staten Island, New York City,
where John worked as a foreman for Gypson Block Company. In 1975 John and
Carolyn moved to Spencer where they dairy farmed until retiring in 2000. They
moved to Marshfield in 2013, where he currently resided until his death,
John was a gentle cowboy with a strong Texas accent that he carried through his
entire life. He enjoyed wildlife and found himself "naming" just about every
critter that he would see. He also loved baseball-Oh those Brewers, he was their
greatest fan.
Survivors include his wife; Carolyn Hasserodt, Marshfield, son; Rex (Renee)
Hasserodt, Marshfield, grandchildren; Ross Hasserodt, Minneapolis, Riley
Hasserodt, Marshfield and Amie Hasserodt, Tomahawk and a brother; Leon
Hasserodt, Colman, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons; Arthur and John Jr. and an infant
daughter.
John is leaving behind some very special people, his best buddy; Bill Aden and
wife Cindy. How he loved and cherished Bill, thank you Bill for your genuine
friendship throughout the years. Lastly, his son, Rex, who was a huge part of
his life in both caring for him in ill health and endless support. Rex, you've
earned your wings.
A special thank you to the fine staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, 6th floor and
ICU, your care and guidance was immeasurable.
