Pagel, Eleanor Jo (20 October 1945 - 23 May 2016)
Eleanor Jo Pagel, age 70, of Eau Claire, formerly of Thorp, WI, passed away on
Monday, May 23, 2016, at Dove Healthcare West, In Eau Claire. Funeral services
were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 28, 2016, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in
Thorp. Rev. Paul Bittner officiated and inurnment will take place at a later
date in East Thorp Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday, at the church,
from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Eleanor Jo Jenson was born on October 20, 1945, at Luther Hospital, in Eau
Claire, WI, to Edward M. Sr., and Evelyn F. (Machovsky) Jenson. She was raised
in the Eau Claire area and received her education at Eau Claire area schools.
After completing her schooling, Eleanor worked as a house keeper for several
families in Eau Claire. She later worked as a school teacher aide at Thorp
Public Schools for many years. Eleanor then drove school bus for pre-school
children in Thorp until her retirement. After retiring, Eleanor lived in
Stanley, and later moved to Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp, until entering
Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire, to be with her husband, Ronald.
Eleanor was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide in Thorp.
She had many interests but especially loved listening to music, traveling and
shopping.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Pagel, Sr. of Eau Claire; one
step-daughter, Deborah (Randy) Quinn of Eau Claire; three step-grandchildren:
one step-great-grandchild; one brother, Edward M. Jr. (Evelyn) Jenson; two
sisters: Judy Monroe and Delores Griesel; one sister-in-law, Annie Jenson;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dennis Jenson; and by
one step-son, Ronald J. Pagel, Jr.
