Alton, George (24 APR 1898 – 26 MAY 1962)
George Alton, 64, Bozeman, Montana school teacher, died Saturday, May 26, 1962
at the Veterans' Administration Hospital, Fort Harrison, where he had been a
patient for almost a year.
Mr. Alton was born April 24, 1898 in Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin. He had
been a resident of the state for 19 years, residing the past five years in
Bozeman. He served between June 25, 1918 and October 6, 1919 as a Seaman Second
Class in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his widow, Florence.
Funeral services were conducted Monday in the Hagler Chapel with Chaplain H.M.
Waldron officiating. Burial was in Custer Battlefield National Cemetery.
