Joyce, Dawn (Marriage - 15 June 1974)
Miss Dawn Joyce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Joyce, Jr., of Rt.1 Greenwood,
and Thomas Weyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Weyer of Rt. 2 Loyal, pledged
marriage vows Saturday, June 15, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The
Very Reverend Norbert E. King performed the 1 p.m. ceremony, which was followed
by a reception at the home of the groom’s parents.
For her wedding, the bride chose an empire style gown of lace over nylon
organza. The squared neckline was outlined in ruffles, and the lace bodice ended
at the empire waistline covered in Chantilly lace and accented by seed pearls.
Matching full length sleeves were cuffed at the wrist. Her shoulder length veil
was held by a pearl headpiece. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white
stephanotis with entwined and trailing ivy as she was presented in marriage by
her parents.
Miss June Schmidt, Loyal, was the maid of honor and Miss Pat Weyer, Woodruff,
Miss Kris Weyer, Loyal, and Mrs. Robert Dillenbeck, Greenwood, were the
bridesmaids. Their Southern belle-design gowns of flowing crepe of yellow and
aqua blue were accented with lace and dotted Swiss and complimented by
wide-brimmed hats. Arrangements of blue, yellow and white daisies with lace and
streamers formed their nosegays.
Attending the groom were Joseph Weyer, Loyal, as bestman and James Weyer,
Spencer, Ken Volovsek, Greenwood, and Robert Dillenbeck, Greenwood as groomsmen,
Dave Walter and Ray Weyer, both of Loyal, served as ushers.
Mrs. Jerry Anderegg, Greenwood, and Mrs. Al Schoonover, Loyal, sang at the
wedding.
The Newlyweds are both graduates of Loyal High School. The bride is employed at
a Marshfield restaurant and her husband is engaged in farming. He is also a
member of the Abbotsford unit of the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
They will live on Rt. 1 Greenwood.
