MISSIONARIES TO HONDURAS – A former Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) man, George
Plunkett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plunkett Sr. of Greenwood, and his wife sue
have arrived in Belize British Honduras as Papal volunteers for lay help in
Latin America. Plunkett, who served with the U.S. Armed Forces for six years, is
a June graduate of La Crosse State College. He will set up a physical education
program in a new teacher training college in Belize. His wife will teach in a
Catholic high school there. The couple met while both were students at La Crosse
State College and were married two years ago. They will spend a year in Belize
with an option to renew their contract. Their salaries will be paid by the
Catholic Diocese of La Crosse. Mrs. Plunkett is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Beranek of La Crosse.
