Annapolis, Md. (FHTNC) – Attending Parents' Open House Weekend activities August
24-26, 1962, at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., was William J. Lange of
Route 3, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), father of Midshipman Fourth Class Jerome
B. Lange.
Parents' Weekend marked the first time the new midshipmen, who entered the
academy for plebe summer training, June 27, had the opportunity to display for
their parents and relatives, their new way of life.
The open house activities are designed to acquaint the parents of plebes with
the Naval academy and its program, giving them a better understanding of their
son's progress and problems, and enabling them to better assist him during his
four years as a midshipman.
