Postmaster and Mrs. Clarence Dolan of Abbotsford were the host and hostess for
the party which was held at the Cass Grande on Wednesday evening, January 23,
1963. Mr. Dolan served as Master of Ceremonies. "Doc" Barnes was presented a
Certificate of Appreciation, which was issued by the Post Office Department. The
presentation as made by Mrs. Ina Henlick, Curtiss Postmaster, Clark County's
Senior Postmaster.
Gifts were presented to Mr. Barnes from employees of the Greenwood (Clark Co.,
Wis.) Post Office. Mr. Irvin Humke, a rural carrier, made the presentation. Mike
Stieber, Postmaster of Colby and Chairman of Clark County Postmasters, extended
best wishes of the organization to the honored guest, and also presented a gift
befitting the occasion.
Following the dinner the new Abbotsford Post Office was opened for inspection. A
formal dedication of the structure will be held on Sunday, February 24th.
Postmasters, their wives, and friends were present from Greenwood, Loyal,
Neillsville, Thorp, Withee, Owen, Curtiss, Abbotsford, Colby, Lublin and
Medford.
