Mrs. Rose Ludwig of route 1, Dorchester has received a letter from her son, Joe Kittle, written March 3, 1968, that he sustained injuries to his left hand and a cut on his lip from a piece of metal, but that he is coming along fine. Mrs. Ludwig had not been notified previously.

He is serving with Navy mobile construction battalion 8 in the Hue area pushing heavy duty equipment ahead of the troops.

The serviceman enlisted in the Navy following his graduation from the Colby High School in 1965.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Pollack of rural Colby, with whom he made his home.
