Habeck, Phoebe A. (16 FEB 1914 – 25 MAR 1968)
Funeral services for Mrs. Alvin Habeck, 54, town of Brighton (Marathon Co.,
Wis.), will be held Friday, March 29 at St. John's Lutheran Church, North
Spencer, at 2 p.m.
She died Monday morning, March 25, 1968, at her home in the town of Brighton,
following a lingering illness.
The Rev. Milford Younker will officiated at the services, and burial will be
made in the St. John's North Spencer Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, beginning
Wednesday evening.
Phoebe Angeline Timmons was born February 16, 1914, in Charles City, Ia. When
she was seven, her family moved to Madison, where she received her education.
Her marriage to Alvin Habeck, who survives, took place August 22, 1937, in the
Little Brown Church at Nassau, Ia. In 1942 they moved to the town of Brighton,
where they operated a farm.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and had belonged to the Ladies'
Aid. She also served as a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Dean of Colby, Clifford of
Stratford, and Paul, at home, and a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Karen) Doubek, who
husband is in Germany with the armed forces. There are five grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Marvin Timmons of Orangeville, Calif., and two
sisters, Mrs. George (Ruth) Dennisson, Beloit, and Mrs. Kenneth (Delpha) Roberts
of Riverside, Calif. She is preceded in death by a sister.
