Olsen, Evelyn F. (24 DEC 1918 – 5 APR 1968)
Mrs. Norman Olsen, 49, of 230 South Fourth St., Abbotsford, died Friday, April
5, 1968, at 9 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was a patient
since January 19.
The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, from where it was taken to
the First Presbyterian Church, Abbotsford, where services were held Monday
afternoon. The Rev. Charles Glidden conducted the rites at one o'clock, during
which Mrs. Eugene Strathman was organist.
Interment followed in the Abbotsford Cemetery. The pallbearers were Len Colby,
Robert Goldamer, Jack Kelsey, Clarence Nelson, Roland Roth and Val Wojner.
Mrs. Olsen, the former Evelyn Faye De Vault, was born in Sauk County December
24, 1918, and educated in Reedsmburg schools. Her marriage to Norman Olsen took
place at Reedsburg February 29, 1936. They made their home at Abbotsford since
that time.
Mrs. Olsen was a member of the Royal Neighbors of Abbotsford and of the S.T.A.R.
Circle of the United Presbyterian Women's Association.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Norman Jr. in California, and Robert,
at home, and three daughters, Mrs. Martin (Delores) Schell and Miss Audrey Olsen
of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Llewellyn (Joyce) Loucks, rural Colby. There are
nine grandchildren.
She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Louis (Dorene) Haller of Madison, Mrs. Sadie
Montgomery of Wheatland, Wyoming, and Mrs. Elaine Barto of Hillsboro, and one
brother, Don De Valult of Baton Rouge, La.
Relatives from away who came for the funeral were from Cheyenne, Wyoming,
Reedsburg, Madison, Hillsboro and Seaford, Delaware.
