Duane Olson has been active in the FFA, serving as Vice-President and this year
as President. He has represented the local FFA at the American Institute of
Cooperation at Minneapolis in 1961, Land O' Lakes Annual Meeting in 1962 and the
Wisconsin Council of Agriculture Cooperative this past fall. He has also served
on the Junior Board of Directors of Clark Electric Cooperative. This past year
he won the local and District FFA Speaking Contest.
His Farming Program consists of two dairy cows and three heifers. He has tested
the home herd for the past four eyars and maintained records on the herd. He
also conducted corn yield tests plots on the home farm. Duane is also active in
the Youth Fellowship at his church and in 4-H, where he is now serving as a
Junior Leader.
At the recent commencement exercises, he was presented with the DeKalb
Agricultural Award, which is annually given to the outstanding agricultural
student.
Duane plans to attend the Wisconsin Fam Short Course at the University of
Wisconsin this fall, and then plans to farm.
Accompanying Dennis to Green Lake, will be Roger Schwarze, President-elect of
the FFA Chapter, and Mr. Victor Wagner, his advisor.
