Susan Kowalczyk, a senior at Loyal High School, is Loyal's 1971 Betty Crocker
Homemaker of Tomorrow. Sue was selected for her performance in a written
knowledge and attitude examination administered to senior girls on December 1,
1970. In addition to a specially designed award from General Mills, she is now
eligible for state and national honors, which includes one of 102 college
scholarships.
Sue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kowalczyk, is a transfer student from
Gilman Publich Schools. This is her first year here at loyal. Her three years of
Home Economics and one year in FHA were a great asset in achieving the Betty
Crocker Award. In addition to this, Sue has been an active member of the Girls'
Athletic Association, International Fellowship Organization, Pep Club, Mixed
Chorus, and Girls' Glee Club. She is also taking part in the tutoring system set
up this year at Loyal.
Reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, swimming and hose back riding are among
her interest and hobbies. Sue's plans for the future are indefinite.
