When the Wood County Teachers College held their annual College Ball on Saturday
evening, May 18, 1963, at Wisconsin Rapids, the grand march was led by the royal
court following the coronation of the College Queen and the Alumni Queen.
Preceding the queen, Miss Alice Lindner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lindner
of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and her escort, Dennis Neuenfeldt, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Neuenfeldt, also of Greenwood, was the queen's court of honor.
Carrying the Coronation Crowns were little Princess Kay and Master Paul, both of
Wisconsin Rapids. The theme of the Prom was "Sayonara," and the gym was
transformed into a beautiful Japanese garden with walls of rice paper doors, a
bubbling fountain, flowers, shrubs and colored lights. A huge Buddha kept a
watchful eye on the crowd as they danced.
