Dennis Neuenfeldt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Neuenfeldt, Greenwood (Clark Co.,
Wis.), will spend part of the summer with a college Catholic Mission team in
Mora, New Mexico. Neuenfeldt, a student at the University of Wisconsin, will
work for eight weeks in the Spanish-speaking area.
The team will handle catechetical and recreational work, and a couple members
will teach art on the side. They will live with the natives of the area, first
and second generation Spanish-Americans and Indians – and operate out of the
nearby Mission.
The ten member team will begin operations June 11 in Madison, with a three-day
seminar on the people and the area, and a retreat. They will leave for New
Mexico on the 13th in two member cars. The volunteers will pay their travel
costs and all incidental expenses for the project. They are raising money to
help pay the tab.
At Mora, the women will live in the convent, and the men will room at the
rectory. The Mission project is under the direction of Judy Brennell, a
University student from Chippewa Falls.
