Seeman, Marvin W. (7 AUG 1915 – 15 JUN 2016)

Marvin W. Seeman, 100, Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, June 17, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiated. Burial followed in the Loyal City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kurt Seeman, Vaughn Seeman, Jason Dux, Dale Rothamer, Robert Berger and George Berger.

Marvin William Seeman was born on Aug. 7, 1915, in the town of Brussels, rural Algoma, to William A. and Ida M. (nee Picha) Seeman. He attended Sunny Knoll Grade School and two years at Loyal High School. Marvin worked at his family’s cheese factory, Pleasant View Dairy, in Loyal, until 1947. He married Hazel M. Strey on Sept. 24, 1950, in Mason, Iowa. They moved to Spring Valley, where they owned and operated Cady Cheese Factory. Marvin was a cheesemaker his entire life. Throughout the years, he worked at a cheese house in St. Croix Falls, the Hatchville Cheese Factory in Hatchville, and also worked at a cheese factory in Merrill, until they moved to Unity in 1980. In 2007, they moved to Marshfield where they resided until his death.

Marvin was a good husband who loved being with his wife. They enjoyed attending church, watching Christian programs, and reading the Bible. Some of his favorite chapters were Isaiah 53, Psalms 27, 40, 41, 42, and his favorite verse, Psalm 37:4-5 (Delight thyself also in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy ways unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass). After retirement, he loved driving his car with Hazel at his side as they listened to Christian music. In his last years, he was at peace as long as he had Hazel’s hand in his.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Hazel, of Marshfield; two nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eileen Luther; and one brother, Roland “Bud” Seeman.
