Geiger, Mr./Mrs. Bernard (Silver - 5 MAY 1968)
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Geiger, rural Colby, observed their 25th wedding
anniversary Sunday, May 5, 1968.
Saturday evening, May 4, a large crowd attended the celebration dance held at
Unity Hall with the "Marjenarys" providing the music. Fred Justman called for
square dance held intermittently during the evening.
The anniversary couple, their parents, their children and their wedding
attendants wll wore corsages and boutonnieres for the occasion. On Sunday,
friends and relatives gathered at the Geiger home for lunch and supper.
Bernard Geiger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Geiger, Dorchester, and Jane Pollack,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pollack of Colby, were united in marriage May 5,
1943, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford, with Father Francis Brockman
officiating at the ceremony.
Their attendants were Cyril Decker and Adeline Stoiber, both of Dorchester, and
now married to each other, and Bernard's brother, Sylvester, and sister, Adeline
Geiger.
They have lived on their farm east of Colby all their married life. They have
seven children, Shirley (Mrs. Allen Baehr), Colby, Gerald, Plymouth, Wis.,
Robert, Jean, Ronald, Elaine and Dennis, all at home. The couple has five
grandchildren, all girls.
