Bix, Esther M. (Ackermann) (17 JUL 1926 - 2 JUN 2016)

Esther M. Bix, age 89, died Thursday, June 2 at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield where she had been a patient for the past week.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford with Father Phil Juza and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Internment of her cremated remains took place at Molitor Catholic Cemetery, Town of Molitor.

Visitation was at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7 with a 7 p.m. Catholic prayer service held and also at church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Ruth was born on July 17, 1926 to the late Michael and Mary (Kern) Ackermann in Medford. She attended Pine Tree Elementary School, Town of Molitor and was a graduate of Medford High School. On September 23, 1950 she married Lee J. Bix at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. He preceded her in death June 12, 2010.

She worked as a bookkeeper at Strebig Auto in Medford, a secretary at the Medford Junior High School and she worked in payroll at Weather Shield in Medford for periods of time. She enjoyed sewing, reading and spending time at the lake. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.

She is survived by her special friend Harold Neumueller of Medford; children, Jim (Ginny) Bix of Thorp, Barb (Gene) Moser of Medford, Kathy (Brad) Trimner of Park Falls and Pat (Randall) Malin of Park City, Utah; and three grandchildren, Nick (Fiance-Rebecca) Trimner of Phillips, Dr. Chris Trimner of Park City, Utah and Lily Malin also of Park City, Utah.
