Schauer, Marion Lucille (18 MAY 1968)
Miss Marion Lucille Schauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schauer of route 1,
Spencer, and Robert William Haas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haas, were married
May 18, 1968 at a 1:45 p.m. ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer,
performed by a brother of the bride, Pastor Kenneth Schauer, and Pastor William
H. Ruhbusch.
Mrs. James Karau sang during the ceremony, with organ music provided by Mrs.
Arnold Bruesewitz.
The bridal gown was a crepe and lace fashion in empire A-line silhouette with
redingote effect. It had long sleeves and a detachable crepe edged lace train
from the shoulders. The bouffant veil of import silk illusion was attached to a
lovely French look headpiece of Venice lace in floral motifs, centered with
pearl stems.
She carried a rosette bouquet of pinochia mums and camellia foliage.
Her attendants were Mrs. David Freimund, route 2, Spencer, the matron of honor,
and Miss Elaine Meinders of route 1, Spencer, and Miss Judy Haas of route 1,
Unity.
They wore identically styled floor length sheaths with avocado green brocade
empire bodices and maize crepe skirts. The bodice was designed with a scoop
neckline and elbow sleeves, and a detachable panel of the brodcade trimmed the
dresses at the back. They wore forward headpieces of taffeta florals, to which
short halo veils were secured, in the same shade of green as the bodices.
The bridesmaids carried twin hearts entwined in net to match their gowns, and
arrangements of gladiola blossoms.
The groom's attendants were Melvin Kloehn of route 1, Unity, as best man, and
Leonard Haas of route 1, Unity, and Warren Schauer of route 1, Spencer, rounded
out the wedding party.
Performing the ushering duties were David Freimund and Richard Kloehn.
A reception was held at Spencer Hall, Spencer, and a supper was served at
Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. A wedding dance was held in the evening at
Sportsmen's Park.
The bride is a 1967 graduate of Spencer High School and she has been employed in
the IBM department at Figi's in Marshfield. The groom is a 1966 graduate of the
Colby High School and works at Hull Cheese Factory.
Following a wedding trip to Michigan and Canada, the couple will make their home
in Spencer.
