Manthe, Sylvia Helen (31 August 1922 - 22 June 2016)
Sylvia “Tootsie” Helen Manthe, 93, of Owen died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at
Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center.
She was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Auburndale to Julius and Helen (Nagel) Revling.
She grew up and attended school there. She later moved to Granton. Sylvia was
employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield for 35 years before
retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville. She
loved dogs, spending time outdoors and especially sightseeing with her special
friend of many years, Clayton “Duke” Boon.
Sylvia is survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Gordon and Lester
Revling; a sister, Evelyn Guenther; brother-in-law, Romey Guenther; two
sisters-in-law: Emmoline and Mildred Revling; and special friend, Clayton “Duke”
Boon.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. Cremation Society of
Wisconsin, Altoona, is assisting the family with arrangements.
