Miller, Helen Sonia (27 April 1935 - 1 July 2016)
Helen Miller, 81, of Neillsville died Friday, July 1, 2016, at home surrounded
by her loving family.
Helen Sonia Anderson was born 1 lb. 9 oz. April 27, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN,
the daughter of Harris “Red” and Elvina (Hagman) Anderson. She married her first
love, Harley Miller, Oct. 21, 1950. They lived south of Neillsville in a house
on a hill they bought from Otto Miller for $1.
Helen was proud of her Norwegian heritage, and she was proud to be a veteran’s
wife. She had a big heart and a great sense of humor and loved to crochet while
watching TV. She leaves behind her beautiful family and friends, which were
always dearest in her heart.
Helen was a member of the happy Time Trail Blazer’s Snowmobile Club, the Santa
Shop and the Happy Homemakers Knitting Club.
She is survived by six children: Kathleen (Waymond) Lee of Jacksonville, FL,
Karen “Joe” (Rosemary) Bleecker of Anniston, AL, Koreen Williams of Neillsville,
Karla (John) Koplein of Milladore, Kimberly (Christopher) Laufenberg of
Neillsville, and Rick (Kay) Bucksteiner of Neillsville; 17 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by
a son-in-law, Christopher Gruber, and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley; a daugher Kay Gruber; two
sons, Kenny and Charles Miller, a grandson, Kurt Graves; her parents and two
brothers: Clifford and Thomas Anderson.
A memorial service for Helen will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016, at the
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Terry Marg will officiate. Interment
will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home.
