Richmond, Rose Caryl (16 NOV 1963)
Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood, was the scene of a wedding ceremony
Saturday, November 16, 1963, at 2 p.m., when vows were pronounced by Miss Rose
Caryl Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Richmond, and Paul Howard Humke,
son of Mr. and Mrs. George Humke Sr., all of route 3, Greenwood (Clark Co.,
Wis.).
The Rev. Orval Egbert was the officiating clergyman and Mr. Richmond gave is
daughter in marriage. Mrs. Alvin Albert was the organist, and accompanied
Kenneth Steiger when he sand "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer."
The bride was attired in a full length white gown of imported Chantilly lace
over bouquet taffeta, featuring a scalloped Sabrina neckline, Basque bodice, and
back waistline accented by a circle of lace roses. From the waist cascaded a
bouffant skirt of lace, the edge of which was scalloped lace trimmed with
sequins.
For her headpiece she chose a pillbox of empress satin trimmed with sequins and
seed pearls, to which her fingertip veil of English silk Illusion was fastened.
Her bouquet was an arrangement of pink roses surrounded by white chrysanthemums
and stephanotis.
Mrs. Irvin Humke, Greenwood, the matron of honor, and Mrs. Herbert Horn and Mrs.
Jerald Richmond, also of Greenwood, the bridesmaids, wore floor length emerald
green dresses of peau se soie with cowl collars. Their headpieces were designed
as green leaves with seed pearls and matching veils. Each aid carried a bouquet
of bronze and gold chrysanthemums.
Luann Horn was the flower girl and was dressed like the bride. Wayne Richmond
served as ring bearer.
The groom's attendants were Irvin Humke, Greenwood, the best man, with Herbert
and Jerald Richmond, also of Greenwood, serving as groomsmen. Usher were Norman
Horn, Wausau, and Glenn Horn, Thorp.
The wedding reception was held at the George Humke Sr. home, with supper served
in the church parlors, and the dance held that night at the Silver Done
Ballroom.
Wedding guests came from Lake Bluff and Chicago, Ill., Milwaukee, Beaver Dam,
Burnett, Alma, Green Bay, Nekoosa, Marshfield, Wausau, Eau Claire, Chippewa
Falls, Spring Valley, Black River Falls, Neillsville, Thorp, Colby, Granton,
Owen, Withee, Loyal and Greenwood.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Humke, who are residing on a farm on route 3, Greenwood,
attended Greenwood High School.
