Hanson, Mr./Mrs. Ole (Gold – 19 JUN 1968)
Approximately 250 guests came to greet Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hanson of Abbotsford
Sunday on the occasion of the observance of their golden wedding anniversary.
Open house was held at the Abbotsford City Hall from 2 to 5 o'clock. Elroy
Broeske of Colby, brother of Mrs. Hanson, one of the original wedding party of
four, was present at the celebration.
Miss Elsie Bremer of Abbotsford was in charge of the guest book.
The former Gertrude Broeske and Ole Hanson, both of the town of Mayville (Clark
Co., Wis.), were married June 19, 1918 at Peace Church, Dorchester. They lived
on the Hanson home farm in the town of Mayville until they retired from farming
in 1954 and Moved to Abbotsford, where Mr. Hanson served as street commissioner
until his retirement.
The Hanson are the parents of one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Lorraine) Boss, rural
Colby, and one son, LaVerne, who died at the age of 14. They have three
grandsons, Jack, Ronnie and Randy Boss.
Mr. and Mrs. Hanson are members of Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, and are
active in church organizations.
