Oehmichen, Delores J. (Ploeckelman) (17 JAN 1934 - 29 JUN 2016)

Delores J. Oehmichen, age 82, of Colby, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield with her family by her side.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 2, 2016 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate. Interment will follow at the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Friends and family are welcome from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1 and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday all at the funeral home.

Delores was born January 17, 1934 the daughter of Benjamin and Clara (Rothamer) Ploeckelman in the Town of Mayville.

She was united in marriage to Elmer Oehmichen on April 19, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1992. Together they farmed in the Town of Hull.

Delores enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She also liked to take road trips with her special friend, Charles Jicinsky. Delores enjoyed visiting with her friends and meeting new people. Delores especially loved her grandchildren and getting together with her family.

Delores is survived by her three sons: Dan (Mary) of Marathon, Kurt (May) of Colby and Kevin (Karla) of Athens; six grandchildren: Dan Jr. (Mandy) and their son, Brayden; Michael (Tiffany) and their daughter, Joslyn; Lisa, Robie, Jared and Shania. She is further survived by her special friend, Charles Jicinsky of Unity; three sisters: Jolene Ploeckelman of Milwaukee, Bernice Miller of Eau Claire and Bonnie (Glen) States of Wausau; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; her daughter, Barbara Shell; four sisters and one brother: Sylvia Bender, Donna Kaldunski, Sue Gumz, June Ploeckelman and Kenneth Ploeckelman.

The family would like to thank the Marshfield Senior Care Staff for the wonderful care Delores received.
