McGary, Mildred C. (Roden) (27 APR 1919 - 1 JUL2016)
Mildred C. McGary, 97, of Sheldon died on Friday, July 1, 2016 at her home.
She was born on April 27, 1919 in Robbinsdale, MN to Joseph and Lucy Roden. She
came to Rusk County, WI as a child. Mildred married James McGary on April 24,
1938 at St. Augustine Church in Ingram, WI. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mildred was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Jump River. She was a
member of St. Michael's Ladies Aid and was involved with the Senior Center. In
her early years, she worked at the Jac Flax sewing factory in Sheldon. She also
farmed and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Robert McGary of Sheldon; two daughters-in-law, Faye
Parsons McGary of Menomonie and Valerie Joles McGary of Janesville; 11
grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; two sons, Leroy and
Bill; five sisters, Evelyn (Fred) Kleckner, Delvina (Ted) McGary, Corrine
(Ernest) Goeldner, Lillian and Gladys; one brother, Lawrence; a daughter-in-law,
Andrea (Ahlers) McGary; and a grandson, Danny Heisler.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6 at St. Michael’s
Catholic Church in Jump River with Fr. Sleeva Raju officiating. Burial will be
in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Jump River.
Mildred’s family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5 at Nash-Jackan
Funeral Home in Ladysmith where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. and
again on Wednesday for an hour prior to service time at the church.
