Rauen, Patrick G. (17 MAR 1936 - 2 JAN 2007)
Patrick G. Rauen Sr., 70, 1912 9th Avenue, Edgar, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007
at his home.
He was born March 17, 1936 in Wausau, son of Marie (Karlen) Rauen and the late
Myron Rauen. On July 13, 1957 he married Joann Stencil at St. John Catholic
Church, Edgar. She survives.
Patrick and Joann farmed in the town of Rib Falls for over 33 years. Following
farming he drove truck for Switlick & Sons for several years. Some of Patrick’s
favorite pastimes included reading, traveling the many different “warm” states
throughout the U.S. and watching the Green Bay Packers. Most special to Patrick
was spending time with his family, especially extending many words of wisdom to
his grandchildren and also sneaking in a few pieces of chocolate when he could.
Patrick was a medic in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Rauen, Edgar, his mother, Marie Rauen, Edgar,
his children, Kitty (Ronald) Knetter, Edgar, Patrick G. (Ann) Rauen Jr., Wausau,
Laura (Scott) Achterberg, Wausau, Robert (Regina) Rauen, Edgar, his
grandchildren, April Lynn (Todd) Bricker, Starla Lynn Knetter, LCPL Adam Scott
Achterberg U.S.M.C. and Shawn Lee Achterberg, Samantha Lauren Rauen, Jacob Allen
Rauen, Maria Katherine Rauen and Benjamin Leo Rauen, two sisters, Anne (LeRoy)
Lutz, Brown Deer, Bernadette (Ervin) Radke, Edgar, one brother Leander (Diane)
Rauen, Edgar and mother-in-law, Regina Stencil, Edgar.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by one granddaughter Jamie Lynn
Knetter and his father-in-law John Stencil.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Holy
Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. The Rev. Charles Hiebl and Deacon LeRoy
Knauf will preside.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral
Home, Edgar and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at
the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at
the Edgar funeral home.
