Greunke, Dorothy Lucille "Dottie" (Broeske) (7 OCT 1923 - 18 JUN 2016)
Dorothy Lucille "Dottie" Greunke, 92, a resident of Fond du Lac, passed away
June 18, 2016 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Dorothy was born October
7, 1923 in Dorchester, WI, a daughter of the late Elroy and Emma (Behring)
Broeske.
On December 4, 1943 she married Armin R. Greunke at St. Peter's Lutheran Church
in Dorchester, WI.
Dottie was a 1941 graduate of Abbottsford High School. She started employment at
J. C. Penny Co. and later was employed in the office by Central Cheese of
Marshfield. Following Central Cheese Dottie worked for Nekoosa-Edwards Paper
Mill of Port Edwards. Following a move to Fond du Lac she was employed by Hutter
Construction Company.
Dottie was active in volunteering at the Fond du Lac Senior Center and was a
member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Becky Greunke of Madison, two grandsons,
Dennis (Heather) of Marshall and Matthew (Katie) of Rio, two great-grandsons,
Quintin and Cameron, and two great-granddaughters, Lillian and Vivian. Dottie is
further survived by a brother, Marvin (Kay) Broeske of Abbottsford,
brothers-in-law, Richard Greunke and Orville (Carol) Greunke, sister-in-law,
Erma Thompson, and several nieces and nephews.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Armin in 2006, a daughter, Sharon
Greunke, two sons, Roger Greunke and Dennis Greunke and two brothers, Don and
Clyde Broeske.
Services: Visitation will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent St., Fond
du Lac, on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service
celebrating Dottie's life will be held at Hope Lutheran Church following the
visitation at 11:00 AM. Rev. Steve Huff will officiate. Burial will be in the
Port Edwards Municipal Cemetery.
Memorials in Dottie's name may be directed to Hope Lutheran Church or the
charity of one's choice .
