Mr. and Mrs. Nyles R. Fisher of Des Plaines, Ill., took possession of the local
Variety Store last week. Mrs. Alma May was the former owner. She has moved to
Janesville.
Mr. Fisher, 34 years old, is a native of Antigo, and graduated from the Antigo
High School in 1948. Mrs. Fisher is a native of Stratford and graduated from the
Unity High School.
At Des Plaines, Ill., Mr. Fisher was employed by F.W. Woolworth Co. as store
manager. He spent four years with the Woolworth Co., and 12 years with McCrory
and McLellan Co.
The Fishers have three children, Bob, 13 years old, Barbara, 11 years old, and
Steve, 9 years old. The children are attending Greenwood Community Schools.
At present the new store owners are having a Clearance Sale on all merchandise,
and will restock with a new line of goods. Plans call for a Grand Opening in the
near future.
May we suggest you stop in and meet the Fishers and welcome them to Greenwood
(Clark Co., Wis.).
