College Notes (Spring - 2016)
The following Neillsville students received academic honors at the University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay for the spring 2016 semester: Logan Poeschel, honors (GPA
3.50 to 3.74); Sarah Poeschel, honors; Brandon Schenk, highest honors (GPA 4.0).
Nicole Williams of Owen a senior, has been named to the Minnesota State
University Mankato 2016 spring semester honor list (GPA 3.5 to 3.99)
Jordyn Pieper of Loyal a junior has been named to Wisconsin Lutheran College’s
Dean’s List (GPA 3.6 or higher) for the spring 2016 semester.
Katie Chadwick of Neillsville has been named to the University of
Wisconsin-Oshkosh Dean’s List (GPA 3.75 or higher) for the spring 2016 semester.
Miles German of Owen was named to the pine Technical & Community College (Pine
City, MN) President’s List (GPA 4.0) for the 2016 spring semester.
The following area students were among the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
2016 spring graduates:
Neillsville - Danae L. Fitzmaurice, Bachelor of Science (BS), clinical
laboratory science-medical terminology
Owen - Mallory D. Kroeplin, BX, family and consumer sciences-child/youth/family
studies; Brittany Peterson, BS, biology, cum laude
Amber Bochte, daugher of Judith Trunkel, Neillsville, earned a Bachelor of Arts
degree Cum Laude in economics and theater arts June 12 from Lawrence University,
Appleton. She is a 2008 graduate of Neillsville High School
Megan Roedel of Loyal graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in biology May 22
from Wartburg College, Waverly IA. She is the daughter of Dr. Elroy H. and Debra
S. Roedel.
Colby student Samara hull was one of 25 to 50 students chosen to participate in
a Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) at Carthage College, Kenosha.
Students spend 10 weeks on campus doing research full time with a faculty
mentor, receiving a stipend, on-campus housing, meal plan and small research
budget. Students present weekly progress and write a project report and display
their findings at the end of the program.
Jennifer Glaze of Neillsville was among the May 2016 graduates of the University
of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She graduated with honors receiving a Bachelor of Arts
degree with Spanish major.
