Volovsek, Mr./Mrs. Frank (Gold – 25 JUL 1964)
On Saturday, July 25, 1964 at 10:00 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Volovsek Sr. renewed
their marriage vows in Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard. Father Wm. A.
Nikolai officiated at the Mass, which was sung by members of the family.
Altar boys were grandsons of the couple, Richard, Michael, Steve Volovsek, and
Frank Sladich.
The former Ann Flis became the bride of Frank Volovsek on July 25th, 1914 in St.
Mary's Catholic Church, West Allis. They were born and raised in Yugoslavia,
came to West Allis in 1912, where they lived until 1928 when they came to the
Willard (Clark Co., Wis.) area to farm.
Born to the couple were seven sons and 4 daughters, all of which were present.
One daughter died in infancy. The sons are: Frank Jr., Al, William, of Willard;
Stanley, Joe and John of Greenwood, and Tony of Franklin, Wis. Daughters are
Mrs. John (Mary) Staut, La Crosse; Mrs. Anton (Margaret) Jeras, Brookfield; Mrs.
Ann Sladich, Marshfield; and Mrs. Joe (Betty) Fraid of West Allis.
Also attending the festivities were 40 of their 41 grandchildren and 1
great-granddaughter. A grandson stationed at Kansas was unable to attend.
A dinner for the immediate family was served at the William Volovsek home, where
later in the day open house was held with about 150 guests present.
Guests attending were from Milwaukee, Brookfield, Franklin, West Allis, Madison,
Marshfield, Loyal, Colby, Arpin, Thorp, Neillsville, Greenwood and Willard area.
