Hirschman, Mary Ellen (13 JAN 1898 – 18 JUL 1964)
Mrs. John M. Hirschman, Sr., 66, of Loyal (Clark Co., Wisconsin, Rt. 1, formerly
of Chicago, died Saturday noon, July 18, 1964, in Marshfield, where she was a
surgical patient. She had been in the hospital since June 23.
Graveside rites were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oakland cemetery, Woodstock, Ill.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Hill Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hirschman, the former Mary Ellen Burbridge, was born January 13, 1898, in
Woodstock, Ill. On October 21, 1922, she was married to John Morrisman
Hirschman, in Chicago. They lived in Chicago until 1963, when Mr. Hirschman
retired, having worked 36 years for Bell Telephone Company. They spent some time
in California before coming to this area on March 5, 1964. Three days later Mr.
Hirschman died.
Survivors include two sons, John Jr. of Orange, California, and George of
Lockport, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Marion) Fitzl of Loyal, Mrs. James
(Charlotte) Rogers of Hampton, N.J., and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Fitzl of Greenwood.
Fifteen grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Werner (Hilda) Schwiezer of Ellsworth,
Minn., and a brother, Nelson Burbridge of New Era, Michigan, also survive.
