Twenty-Two members of the Greenwood High School class of 1944 and their spouse
and guests, attended a 20th anniversary reunion dinner and program at K-Corners,
near Loyal, recently.
Alan Hubert, Horicon, was master of ceremonies. The tables were decorated with
American Beauty roses in keeping with the class colors. The dinner invocation
was pronounced by Carl Lindbo.
Held in special remembrance were four members of the class, Leo Dill and Harley
Worchel, who lost their lives in World War II; and Junior Wetzel and Harley
Williams, also deceased. Vern Vollrath read the class will and Mrs. Lorraine
Klapatauskas read "Talking in the Shadows," a poem which appear in the 1944
Greenwood annual. Mrs. Shirley Thompson read letters from the class members
unable to attend the reunion.
Awards were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Austin Mlada for being the first to reply
to the reunion announcement; to Mrs. Bernice Fravert for having the most
daughters; to Mrs. Arline Mason for having the most sons; to Mrs. Bernyce Barr
for being the only grandmother. Token gifts were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Al
Moldenhauer and Mrs. Dorothy Williams.
Guests at the reunion were former faculty members. Superintendent and Mrs. Al
Moldenhauer, Stevens Point, and Mrs. Dorothy Williams, West Bend.
Class members and their spouses in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Ken (Donna Kind)
Hium, Mr. and Mrs. Eldore (Violet Kuester) Humke, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Shirley
Vinger) Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Bernyce Celar) Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Orlin (Elvera
Reineking) Fravert, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy (Bernice Schwarze) Fravert, Mr. and Mrs.
Joe (Constance Truax) Bizjak, Gordon, Worden, Alvin Ehlers, Lawrence Jackson,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Millie Weber) Herrick, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sloniker, all of
Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Mike (Lorraine Kitzhaber) Klapatauskas, Willard; Mr. and
Mrs. Arlan Hubert, Horicon; Mr. and Mrs. Philip Vangsness, Poynette; Mr. and
Mrs. Austin Mlada, Hales Corners; Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Gladys Wehrman),
