Fifteen young people repeated church vows Sunday to become members of the
Christie Methodist Church. They have attended Saturday classes for the past six
months and have no unexcused absences from the Morning Worship Service.
Each of the students have kept a notebook of memory work and text material. The
project theme "This I Believe" was the highlight of the notebook.
Eight-five friends and relatives watched as Dennis Anderegg, Bruce Rakestraw,
Jim Nozar Jr., Robert Bird, Carol Nozar, Connie Lonning, Mar Slone, Richard
Slone, Kent Lonning, Gary Johnson, Kathy Rayburn, David Rakestraw, Ronnie
Ormond, Kay Schultz and Karen Schultz came to the front as Rev. Herbert
Thompson, District Superintendent, read the membership exercises. Rev.
Thompson's meditation was directed by saying, "Confirmed, but not the end of
learning." The service was highlighted by our partaking of the Holy Communion.
