On Saturday evening, November 28, 1964, the city of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) heard a new sound, that of the new Schulmerich "Campanile" bells instrument of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. This instrument is a gift from Mrs. Lydia Vinger, in memory of her husband Palmer. The bells will be dedicated at the morning service, 10:30 a.m., December 6. There will be a potluck fellowship lunch at noon in the church parlors, following the service.

An exclusive development of Schulmerich Carillons Inc. of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, the "Campanile" bells instrument consists of miniature bell units of bronze bell metal, which ar struck by metal hammers, producing exact bell tones almost inaudible to the human ear. These bell vibrations are then amplified over one million times by means of specially designed electronic equipment, producing true bell tones which are far superior to the tones of traditional cast bells of massive proportions. The "Campanile" bells instrument constitute a perfect polyphonic peal – the tonal equivalent of 16,900 pounds of cast bronze bells.

Members of Our Savior's Congregation will be summoned to worship by the new bells, which will ring automatically at 9:15 a.m. Sunday mornings. In addition they will serve the Greenwood community striking the hours Monday through Saturday each week from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. They will also peal on Saturday evening at 6:00 as a reminder of the day of worship.
