Seaman Dennis J. Ackerman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ackerman Jr., route
1, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), has reported for duty aboard the amphibious
assault ship USS Valley Forge in the Wester Pacific.
Operating as a unit of the U.S. Seventh Fleet, the Valley Forge acts as a launch
support vessel for amphibious assault craft during shore landings.
