Bublitz, Otto & Laura (26 Jul 1892 – 18 MAR 1969 & 5 JUN 1891 – 17 MAR 1969)
Double funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bublitz of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.),
were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran Church,
Curtiss, with the Rev. Roger Tellock officiating. Interment was made in Pine
Hill Cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Bublitz entered the nursing home at Neillsville in December, died a
day apart. Mrs. Bublitz, 77, died Monday at the Neillsville Hospital, and her
husband, 76, died on Tuesday.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Bublitz were Joseph Ackerman, Richard Carlson, S.E. Grimes,
Ed Hoffman, Frank Smith and Eino Walkama.
Acting for Mr. Bublitz were Joe Caraba, Herbert Goessl, Ronald Hoffman, Joe
Hiebsch, Tony Lietzen and Clarence Strohkirch.
The former Laura Bell Neitzel was born June 5, 1891, at Rhinelander, and Mr.
Bublitz was born July 26, 1892, at Milwaukee. Their marriage took place at
Curtiss June 1, 1915. The couple farmed in the town of Hoard until 1953, when
they built the Sunset Motel at Owen and operated that until their retirement in
1953.
While farming in the town of Hoard, Mr. Bublitz served on the town board and was
also a member of the school board for 22 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Loraine) House of Abbotsford and
Mrs. Fred (Margie) Panzenhagen of North Palm Beach, Florida; a son, Virgil of
Owen, and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Bublitz also leaves one brother, Lawrence Neitzel of Abbotsford, and two
sisters, Mrs. Mabel Hanson of Park Falls and Mrs. Albert Kuehling of
Pleasureville, California.
Mr. Bublitz has one sister, Miss Adela Bublitz, Milwaukee. Four brothers
preceded him in death.
Among the close relatives who came fro the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Panzenhagen and two children of North Palm Beach, Florida; Mrs. Mabel Hanson of
Park Falls; Miss Adela Bublitz and Mr. and Mrs. Al Goldamer of Milwaukee; Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth House of Medford; Miss Tana House of Oshkosh.
Other relatives and friends came from Wis. Rapids.
