Miss Susan Schraufnagel, 20, of rural Colby, is the 1969-70 Miss Wisconsin Rural
Electrification.
She was chosen for the title during the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative annual
meeting in Madison, March 27, 1969. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse
Schraufnagel, she is a sophomore at Wisconsin State University at Eau Claire.
She was sponsored in the state contest by Clark Electric Cooperative, Greenwood
(Clark Co., Wis.).
Miss Schraufnagel was crowned by Miss Jewel Harris of rural Hillsboro, the
retiring state titleholder. As Miss Wisconsin Rural Electrification, Miss
Schraufnagel will serve as the official hostess for the 400,000 persons who
receive their electric power from the electric cooperatives in Wisconsin. She
will also represent Wisconsin in the national Miss Rural Electrification contest
in La Vegas next February.
