Fuchs, Rita Joan (Grant) (14 APR 1952 - 17 JUL 2016)

Rita Joan Fuchs, age 64, of Rib Lake, passed away on Sunday, July 17, at her residence in the Town of Rib Lake under the loving care of her family and Hope Hospice.

The funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Thursday July 21 at Good Shepard Catholic Church, Rib Lake, with Fr. Otto Bucher officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake.

Pallbearers will be Ryan and Peter Fuchs, Justin and Jim Grant, Todd Stuessy, Taylor Reinhardt, Neil Kauer.

Visitation is at Good Shepard Catholic Church, Rib Lake from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 20 where there will be a 7:00 PM Catholic Rosary service held and also from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Thursday, July 21.

Rita was born on April 14, 1952, in Medford, to Jerome Valentine and Irene Marie (Kleiber) Grant.

She is a graduate of Holy Rosary Catholic School in Medford and a 1970 graduate of Medford High School.

On June 16, 1972, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford Rita married Peter Bernard Fuchs. He survives.

Rita worked as a stay at home mom for many years. She also worked at Gem Products, Rib Lake, Micros Inc., Rib Lake, Custom Sewing Inc., Rib Lake, and Great Northern Cabinetry, Rib Lake until ill health forced her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, shopping, watching the Green Bay Packers, garage sales, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a member of Good Shepard Catholic Church, Rib Lake.

Rita is survived by her husband, Peter “Pete” B. Fuchs, Rib Lake; children Brian (Connie) Fuchs, Dorchester, Stephanie Fuchs, Medford, Trisha (Jesse) Kittl, Abbotsford, Kristy (Todd) Schesel, Spencer, Jeff (Brooke Moberg) Fuchs, Medford, Carrie (Chad Leichtman) Fuchs, Colby; grandchildren Taylor Reinhardt, Gavin, Ethan, Camryn, and Evan Fuchs, Cortney and Hunter Kittl, Emily and Kellie Schesel, Jamisyn Leichtman; one great-grandchild on the way.

She is further survived by siblings, Bernie (Ron) Oberley, Chelsea, John (Mary) Grant, Weston, Donnie (Barb) Grant, Medford, Mike (Ilene) Grant, Medford, Betty (Jerry) Stuessy, Medford, Bob (Linda) Grant, Franklin, WI; sister in law Deb Grant, Medford.

Rita is predeceased by her parents, Jerome Valentine and Irene Marie (Kleiber) Grant; and a brother, Ed Grant in 2007.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are be given to the family for a future designation.
