Pauline Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hoffman, was chosen to
represent the Colby school at the National Safety Patrol Conference at
Washington, D.C. Pauline received a check from Del Zwirchitz, manager of
Packaging Corporation of America at Colby. The firm annually sponsors a trip for
one member of the patrol to the national meeting. Colby Police Chief, Albert
Podevels Jr., is the advisor of the Colby school patrol. Pauline is a seventh
grade student at St. Mary's Catholic School. She will travel to Washington with
a group of 22 from Marathon County, part of a delegation of 300 from Wisconsin
to make the trip. They will travel together from Madison. The Colby alternate is
Christine Stieber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stieber.
