Pleasant Ridge (6 Mar 1919)
Mrs. Fred Darling spent last week on the Ridge visiting relatives and her home
folks.
Mrs. Edith Swann’s friends gave her a surprise last week in honor of her
birthday. Everyone had a fine time and at 11 o’clock a fine lunch was served for
everyone brought plenty to eat.
Mrs. James Hughes is suffering with eczema and is under a doctor’s care.
Mrs. O.E. Counsell has blood poisoning quite badly and is unable to be around.
Mrs. Clayton Vine and little daughter, Anita, spent Saturday with Mrs. Arlo
Huckstead.
Mr. and Mrs. Hills went to Warren last Wednesday to attend the funeral of his
father, who died at Granton last Sunday of heart trouble. The family has the
sympathy of the entire Ridge.
Miss Estella Selves froze herself quite badly coming out from town one day last
week. She had to stop on the road before she could go on and fainted as soon as
she got into a warm room.
Will Kurth is sick with lumbago.
