Rychnovsky, Gladys T. (28 September 1919 - 29 July 2016)

Gladys T. Rychnovsky, 96, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield. She was born Sept 28, 1919, the youngest daughter of David and Meta (Klann) Seif. Her mother died when Gladys was eight years old.

She was educated in Neillsville, graduating in 1937 from Neillsville High School. She was united in marriage to John C. Rychnovsky Nov. 21, 1941, in Neillsville. They moved to Rockford, IL, where he worked in a factory. In 1944, they returned to Neillsville. Her husband started a partnership, Rychnovsky Brothers, with two of his brothers, Stan and Ed Rychnovsky, selling and repairing cars. Gladys was the secretary/bookkeeper for the business until the partnership was dissolved in 1980.

In 1959, she began employment at the Probation and Parole Office in Neillsville, a job she loved, working there for 40 years until 1999. After retirement, she continued working there as a volunteer for many years.

She has the distinction of being the longest standing member of the Neillsville American Legion Auxiliary. For many years she worked at the Friday night American Legion fish fries.

Gladys is survived by two sons: John of Neillsville and Michael (Maryann) of Enon, OH, and by one daughter, Donna (Arlyn/Butch) Bryan of Neillsville. She is also survived by four grandsons: Todd (Tammy Bryan) of Marshfield, Patrick (Laurie) Bryan of Westboro, James (Hulya) Rychnovsky of San Antonio, TX, and Joseph (Brandi) Rychnovsky of Enon, OH, and by one granddaughter, Jill (Scott) Kyle of Neillsville. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Tylor Bryan, Erin, Caitlin, Allyson and Grayce Bryan, Andrew and Michelle Kyle, John Rychnovsky, Seth and Ethan Rychnovsky, and one great-great-grandson, Trinton Bryan.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sept. 28, 1983; and her sister, Esther Maricle, in 2008.

Private burial services will be held for Gladys. A celebration of life is planned at the American Legion in Neillsville Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Memorials will be donated to the Clark County Humane Society in her name.
