Zager, Ethel Virginia (9 October 1927 - 29 July 2016)
Ethel V. Zager, 88, of Neillsville died Friday, July 29, 2016. She had been a
resident of Sunset Gardens/Neillsville Care and Rehab for the past five and
one-half years.
Ethel Virginia Ormond was born Oct. 9, 1927, to John and Beulah (Osbourne)
Ormond in the Town of Weston. She attended the Globe School and was confirmed at
Immanuel Lutheran Church of Globe. She graduated from Neillsville High School in
1945. She worked for several years at WDLB Radio Station in Marshfield and the
Neillsville Bank. She enjoyed trips to Alaska, Hawaii and the Bahamas.
Ethel is survived by a sister, Evelyn Zager of Neillsville; a brother, Ted
(Susan) Ormond of Stoughton; a special niece, Patricia Zager of Neillsville, a
special nephew, Capt. Bernard (Thyra) Zager, USAF Ret. of Las Vegas; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Zager, in 1984. She was also
preceded by her parents; her brother, John Ormond; and her sisters: Beatrice
Bayuk and Charlotte Briggs.
A funeral service for Ethel will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at
the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with visitation one hour prior to the
service. Pastor John Warmuth will officiate. Interment will be in Neillsville
City Cemetery.
