Borchardt-Dirks, Loetta B. (Juedes) (15 MAY 1916 - 5 AUG 2016)
Loetta B. (Juedes) Borchardt-Dirks, 100, Edgar, formerly of Wausau, died Friday,
August 5, 2016 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau,
under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born May 15, 1916 in the town of Hamburg, daughter of the late Henry and
Ottilia (Voigt) Juedes. Loetta was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Peter
Lutheran Church in Hamburg. She married Wilbert Borchardt on September 26, 1936,
he preceded her in death on May 29, 1974. She then married Ted Dirks in 1977, he
preceded her in death in 1992.
Loetta worked for J.C. Penney and Sears in Wausau for many years and later
worked for West Park Fashions in Wausau. Loetta volunteered at church and also
for the Commission of aging in Edgar for 18 years. Among her favorite pastimes,
she enjoyed cooking, shopping, collecting dolls and gardening, especially flower
gardening. She also loved to travel and visited many different countries.
Survivors include, her son, Jerry (Pam) Borchardt, Wausau; three grandchildren,
Jackie (Bill) Wojciechowski, Wausau, Heidi (Jamie) Mayer, Appleton and Jamie
(Matt) Woller, Kronenwetter; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan Wojciechowski,
Nathan (Ashley) Wojciechowski, Kylee and Carson Mayer and Caitlin, Mckenna and
Bennett Woller; and two great-great-grandsons, Mason and Aiden Wojciechowski.
Besides her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by five
sisters, Alma Thurs, Erna Reinhardt, Adela Tress, Belinda Christian and Ruth
Kufahl; and one brother, Hilbert Juedes.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Jeffrey Lambrecht
will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may
call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Colonial
Manor and the staff at Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the
wonderful care and support given to Loetta. The family would also like to give
special thanks to Pastor Jeffrey Lambrecht and all her friends that visited with
her over the years.
