Michalski, Marietta J. (Riehle) (26 AUG 1923 - 5 AUG 2016)
Marietta J. Michalski, 92, Edgar, died Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Mary's
Hospital, Madison, surrounded by her family.
She was born August 26, 1923 in Wausau, daughter of the late Conrad and Anna (Berres)
Riehle. On June 10, 1944 she married Leo Michalski at Holy Family Catholic
Church, Poniatowski. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1985.
Faith and volunteerism was very important in Marietta's life. She was a member
of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Ladies Society, Circle of Joy, and the
cemetery board. She also was involved as a sacristan, with Perpetual Adoration
and Color Vision.
Survivors include her children, Karen (Michael) Palluconi, Green Bay, Kathleen
(Reuben) Glass, Verona, Kristine (Harold) Weigal, Mokena, Illinois, Donald
(Mary) Michalski, Madison, James (Marjorie) Michalski, Waupaca and Thomas
(Jessica) Michalski, Metuchen, New Jersey; grandchildren; Cindy (Jason) Austin,
Brent Michalski, Sarah (Mike) Scarseth, Korinne (Chad) Novak, Tim (Laura)
Michalski, Kimberly (Ryan) Henning, Megan (Ben) Gudex, Adrienne, Rachel,
Christina and Tracy Michalski, Matthew (Sandra) Glass, Nathan (Sadie) Glass,
Justin and Courtney Weigal; great-grandchildren, Landon Michalski, Jaelyn and
Mason Scarseth, Evan and Mia Novak, Lucy Austin, Spencer Michalski and a
great-granddaughter due soon; sisters, Patricia (John) Wesolowski, Wausau and
Carol (David) Draeger, Wausau; brothers, Harold (Joyce) Riehle, Milwaukee,
Dennis Riehle, Weston, David (Gertrude) Riehle, Madison and Edward Riehle,
Phoenix, Arizona; brother-in-law, Don Mathie, Wausau; sister-in-law, Marie
Riehle, Athens.
Besides her parents and husband, Leo, she was preceded in death by a grandson,
Daniel, brothers, Norman, Jerome, James and Lawrence, sister, Luella Mathie and
sister-in-law, Grace Riehle.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Rev. Felix Tigoy will preside. Burial will be in
the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until
the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Catholic Relief Services or the
American Heart Association.
