Miller, David R. (6 FEB 1948 - 15 APR 2016)
David R. Miller, 68, Wausau, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 15, 2016, with
his family by his side.
He was born Feb. 6, 1948, in Wausau, the son of the late John T. and Marie M. (Weigand)
Miller. On Feb. 15, 1969, he married Beverly Schultz at St. John Lutheran Church
on Highway N, in the town of Wien. She survives. David graduated from
Northcentral Technical College where he earned a degree in agricultural
mechanics.
For most of his life, he was an over-the-road truck driver, most recently for
County Materials, where he retired from in 2014. David was very proud to have
received recognition for driving truck over 2 million miles without having an
accident. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, Sudoku
puzzles, playing cards, especially sheepshead, and was an avid Green Bay Packers
fan. He loved his cottage on Soo Lake, where he worked on many projects and
spent many good times with family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Beverly Miller, Wausau; three
children, Angela (Jim) Lenselink, Wausau, Bradley (Peggy) Miller, Mosinee and
Amanda (William) Sonnentag, Marathon; seven grandchildren, Allison and Caleb
Lenselink, Spencer and Merideth Miller and Chloe, Tate and Natalie Sonnentag;
one brother-in-law, Lloyd (Mary) Schultz, Edgar; one sister-in-law, Patsy (John)
Fischer, Fenwood; special nephew, Gregory Fischer, Madison; his very special
furry pal “Destiny”; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Lawrence
and Ruth Schultz.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 22, at Saint Andrew
Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain. Rev. Craig Swenson presided. Burial was in the
Edgar Cemetery.
Friends called on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400
Stewart Avenue, Wausau, and again on Friday from 1 p.m. until time of the
service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at
