Sheila Trindal, Loyal High School senior, who is the daughter of Mrs. Dorothie
Trindal and the late William Trindal, has been accepted as an apprentice member
of the 1971 Summer Theater Company at WSU – Stevens Point.
As an apprentice, Sheila is entitled to participate in the tryout procedures and
production activities connected with the Summer Theater, and she may also enroll
in classes such as appreciation and history of the theater and summer theater
workshop while at the college. These class credits could be used by Sheila when
she attends the university next fall.
In order to be eligible for summer theater, a student must submit an application
and a voice taping. The application is then sent to the university where it is
analyzed by the selection committee.
While attending Loyal High School, Sheila has been an active participant in
forensics, one-act plays, and all-school plays. Sheila's ambition after
completing college is to become a professional actress.
The Summer Theater Company will present four plays this summer. They are: "You
Know I Can't Hear You When the Water's Running," by Anderson; "The Birthday
Party," by Pinter; "Stop the World – I Want to Get Off," a musical; and a play
for children which will be announced.
