Shramek, Ilona (21 February 1944 - 7 August 2016)
Ilona Shramek, 72, of Neillsville passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at St.
Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. She was born Feb. 21, 1944, in Rockford, IL, to
David and Henrietta (Holmer) Duffer.
Ilona grew up in Illinois. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Shramek May
7, 1966, in Byron, IL. Together they moved to Northfield in 1979 and have spent
the rest of their lives in this area.
Ilona was a homemaker and worked for short periods of time at Castle Hill and
Club 95.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word finds and playing cards.
For the last four years, Ilona resided at Neillsville Care and Rehab Center. She
loved doing the activities and joking with the staff.
Ilona is survived by her children, Michael (Grace) Price of Woodbridge, VA,
Vickie (Randy) Blazek of Alma Center, Randy Shramek and April (Chuck) Arnold,
both of Merrillan; son-in-law, Jack McCoy of Rockford, IL; grandchildren: Amanda
Gerrits, Jennifer Bauer, Donovan and Bryce Arnold, Thomas, Heather and Jessica
McCoy; great-grandchildren: Hunter and Haddie Bauer and Danika Gerrits; and
sister, Amy Hendrickson of Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daugher, Carla McCoy; parents,
David and Henrietta; brothers: Verlin, Carl and Holmer; sister, Laola Logston.
A time of gathering was held at Ilona’s daughter, Vickie’s residence, 219 E.
Cowles St. Alma Center, Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home of Hixton assisted the family with arrangements.
