Mrs. Vera Roder, head cook at the Loyal Public Schools, will be retiring at the
end of this school year after fourteen years of services in the school system.
Mrs. Roder explained that when she stated she didn't plan on being here for
fourteen years, "But," she said, "that's the way things worked out."
When asked about her experiences as a cook she said that the job had its good
and its bad points, as oes any job, but overall it had been an enjoyable time.
Mrs. Roder attributed the success of her fourteen eyars in the cafeteria to her
kitchen help. She said, "The job could not have been a success without fine
help."
Students in Loyal will agree that Mrs. Roder and her staff have done a fine job.
It's a hard job to be a good cook, but with several hundred students to prepare
a meal four, the job is much harder.
Mrs. Roder plans on doing "nothing particular" after she retired, at least for
the first year. She will being to see her brother in the state of Washington
this summer, however.
