Gerstberger, Angeline M. (Rezutek) (21 JUN 1920 - 18 AUG 2016)

Angeline M. Gerstberger, 96, of Rib Lake entered eternal life on Thursday, August 18, at Golden Living Center, Rib Lake where she had resided for the past 3 years.

Angie was born on June 21, 1920 in the Town of Rib Lake to Peter and Mary (Labandz) Rezutek.

She attended Mud Lake Elementary School, Town of Rib Lake. While growing up, she worked on the family farm. She married Otto Gerstberger on September 4, 1943 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rib Lake and he preceded her in death March 3, 1990.

They lived in the Town of Rib Lake and for several years and worked at the Rib Lake Cheese Factory. After the factory closed, she was employed at Gem Products Shoe Factory for 25 years until her retirement in 1986.

Angie liked being outdoors, going for car rides and trips with her sister, Helen. She enjoyed listening to polkas and waltz music. Most of all, she enjoyed being around family members especially the young children. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake, and a past member of its Christian Mothers and church choir.

She is survived by two daughters, Gladys “Peggy” (Peter) Katzfey and Jean Gerstberger both of Milwaukee. Grandsons, Ryan Katzfey and fiancé Pauline Cole of Hoboken, NJ and Aaron (Leeann) Katzfey of Madison, WI. One sister, Helen Osimitz of Merrill, many nieces, nephews and other family members survive.

Angie was preceded in death by her siblings Gladys Gelinskey, Stephan, Julius, Benedict, Walter, Henry, Bruno, Anton and Adam Rezutek.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 22 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of services on Monday.

Memorial contributions in Angie’s honor may be given to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake.
