Myszka, DuWayne J. (4 JUL 1941 - 21 MAY 2016)

DuWayne J. Myszka, 74, of Athens, died peacefully at his home on May 21, 2016.

DuWayne was born July 4, 1941, in the town of Rietbrock, to the late Joseph and Erma Myszka.

He was a 1959 Athens High School graduate. In 1963, he married Mary DeGroote of Rozellville.

In the early years, DuWayne was a logger and bought the family farm. After 13 years of farming, he earned his living as a concrete finisher in the area and worked at a local lumber company.

He is survived by his loving family, wife, Mary; and children, Laurie (Kurt) Wozniak of Marshfield and their children, Chad and Courtney, Jenny Bailey (Dave Russ) of Merrill and her children, Jesse and Starr, Allan “Buck” (Connie) Myszka of Edgar and daughter, Mindy, Amy Myszka of Marathon and daughter, BriAnna, and Shawn Myszka of Richfield, Minn.

He is further survived by seven great-grandchildren; seven sisters; and four brothers.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela, in infancy; and a son, Wayne, in 1983.

DuWayne was a hard worker who enjoyed his spare time with his family. It was DuWayne’s wish to be remembered as he was. There was a private family memorial.

The family wishes to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Tom Stoffel and the Aspirus Hospice Care Team.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
