Miss Sue Carole Christophersen, Eau Claire, and Jacob Joseph Volovsek, Eau
Claire, were joined in marriage Saturday, June 12, 1971, at 3:00 p.m. at the
Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Father M. Mertens and Pastor A. Myhrwold
officiated at the ceremony. Singing and playing guitars were Bruce Felix and
Chuck Bayuk, with Patrice Pakiz at the organ. The bride was given in marriage by
her father.
The parents are Mrs. Marjorie Christophersen and Mrs. Gordon Christophersen,
both of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Volovsek, Route 2,
Greenwood.
Miss Ardis Christophersen, Madison, was the maid of honor, with Miss Peggy
Volovsek and Miss Georgia Hemersbach, both of Greenwood, as bridesmaids.
The bridesmaids carried white wicker baskets with lavender daisies and wore
dresses of whipped cream in pale patel floral print.
The best man was Laverne Volovsek, Madison, and Gordy Lee Christophersen, Great
Lakes, Illinois, and Pat Plautz, Willard, were groomsmen. They wore gold shirts
with black double-breasted suits.
Ed Volovsek and Jim Behrens performed the ushering duties.
The reception, dinner, and dance were all held at the residence of the groom's
parents following the ceremony.
The bride is a 1968 graduate of Greenwood High School and is employed at Great
Surplus Store in Eau Claire. Her husband is a student at WSU – Eau Claire, and
is also a 1968 graduate of Greenwood High School.
